My name is Roshalle VanDorp. I graduated from Oakland Christian School in Auburn Hills, Michigan in 2008. I graduated from Michigan State University in Spring 2012. Starting in August 2012, through the College of Education I will fulfill my internship requirement as a student teacher for a full school year at Malow Junior High School. As an English and history teacher, I have a love for reading and writing and want to encourage my students to explore the world of English through engaging activities, acting, participating in group work, analyzing text, and using comprehension skills. I have a variety of experience with students. From being a freshman volleyball coach, working at basketball camps, being a mentor at a middle school retreat, privately tutoring college students and middle school students, and going to placement at multiple schools for my Teacher Education classes at MSU, I have dealt with a broad range of students and have incorporated teaching methods learned throughout my college career. I am a firm believer in getting to know students both inside and outside of the classroom. I want to be involved with students not only with academics, but with athletics, student council, and student activities. My interests include reading, listening to music, writing, running, traveling, being exposed to different cultures, China, being outdoors, volleyball, basketball, and soccer. |
